These are not articles from nursing journals, but they are about the care of the foot in diabetes:

Diabetic Foot Care

You can get a copy of a patient education booklet on foot care from this site:
http://www.bphc.hrsa.gov/leap/InstructionalInformation.htm just click on "Patient Instruction Booklet". I'm a big user of cut and paste clipart and there are some nice simple pictures here you can incorporate into a teaching tool you might want to make yourself.

http://www.diabetes.org/type-2-diabetes/foot-care.jsp - foot care for diabetics from the American Diabetes Association. Here is a page from their site on foot complications http://www.diabetes.org/for-parents-and-kids/what-is-diabetes/foot-complications.jsp

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/tutorials/diabetesfootcare/htm/index.htm - this is an interactive tutorial from Medline Plus on Diabetes Foot Care. I looked at the text PDF file. It had some nice color pictures on the 5 page text. It talks about how diabetes affects the feet, how to prevent foot problems, daily and regular foot care, shoes and preventing injuries.

http://ndep.nih.gov/campaigns/Feet/Feet_overview.htm - here is more good info from the National Diabetes Education Program. This information is designed for lay public.

http://familydoctor.org/352.xml - there is a section on this site about choosing the right shoes

http://www.healthyroadsmedia.org/List/engdiaftpr.htm - this is a 2-minute video from Health Roads Media called "How Can Diabetes Hurt My Feet?" Here is the written version: http://www.healthyroadsmedia.org/Files/pdf/EnDiaFtPr.pdf
http://www.healthyroadsmedia.org/Files/pdf/EngDiaFt.pdf - is a printable one sheet text version of their little presentation on "Diabetes – What can I do to Take Care of my Feet?" These are also available in Spanish.

http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/complications_feet/ - this site is from the National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse on "Prevent Diabetes Problems: Keep Your Feet and Skin Healthy".
