I turned in my application to Cleveland State CC for the RN program waaayyy back in November, either though they weren't due until March. I know when I turn it in that I have met all the requirements and SHOULD get accepted.
Well, Sunday (Apr.6th) I come home from a 12hr shift as a CNA and find the letter laying on the table. Apparently, no one thought it was very important.
I open the letter, FILLED with anticipation, and it says..... you are NOT eligible. WHAT!?!
Long story short, they did not include all of my pre-req courses when they calculated my GPA and it was too low. So, after a total and complete breakdown proceeded by a HUGE amount of pineapple cake (weight watchers out the window) I went to bed. On Monday, I get up go to work and prepare to go to the school and present my case (with my anxiety building the WHOLE time).
When I get there and get in the Dean's office, I begin to tell her about my GPA and yada yada yada. Four minutes into my story the secretary (who is overhearing everything) sticks her head in and asks for my name. After I tell her and she pulls my file she starts looking at my classes taken and she goes, "Oh yep, here it is. You made an A. Yep, you're in."
I'm in, I'm in??? Did she really just say I AM IN?!?
So, I'll spare you the tears and cheers and conversation that followed, but all in all, the school messed up and I am accepted into the nursing program to start Fall 2008. Hip hip horray!!!
