Talking NET test question...about the reading comprehension portion

I wasn't sure where to ask this question and I hope here is okay. I am going to take the NET test tomorrow. I have been looking over the study guide and I think I "should" do okay. I just had one question. I read that the reading part is generally 3 stories and then they ask questions about those stories. Can you still see the story(look threw it to verify your answer) when it is time to answer the questions? Thanks ALOT!!! Wish me luck

Re: NET test question...about the reading comprehension portion

I guess it may depend on wether you are taking on paper or the computer. When I took mine it was on paper and yes, you could still look back at the story to help you answer the questions. Although to be honest it didn't help much!! It is timed and you only have 30 minutes to read all stories and answer all the questions. Good Luck!!

Re: NET test question...about the reading comprehension portion

Yeah I have heard horror stories about the reading portion and I am not sure how I will do on the math cause I got my husband to time me while I did the 60 test questions in the book and it took me 57 minutes

I had the written version so I was able to see the stories while answering questions. I think that's only fair so I would assume it would be the same on the computer version.

I also had the paper version (actually, I didn't know there was a computerized one) and you could look back. If you have the study book, you should be fine, they were the same type of questions.

Re: NET test question...about the reading comprehension portion

You can still see the "story" on the computer version. Its a scrollable window and underneath that is the question. It was a little bit more difficult for me- because I don't retain information well when I read it on the computer screen. (I like to underline things) But if I remember correctly you don't get the WHOLE story with each question---they kind of narrow down each statement. Like they will ask- "what is the main idea of this paragraph" In stead of specific ideas.

hope that helps. It is completely doable- but I would for sure do some practice examples from the NET book guide. It gives you the explanation as to why an answer is correct. Make sure you know the difference between main idea and purpose....

You will do well if you do that.

Re: NET test question...about the reading comprehension portion

I did my test on the computer. and the results print out when I am done. I am doing all the practice tests I can. Sometimes I do okay other times not so good I don't know what my deal is...I guess I suck at this. Its kinda funny in some weird way cause I get really good grades and have taken classes like anatomy I and II but some how my reading comp sucks?? l
