Do california schools take pre-nursing classes at this National University? Like will sjsu, csulb, csusm, csusb, usf schools give credit to a&p classes taken at this place? Thanks

I'm taking A&P at National, which is accredited by WASC - same as the Cal States. The A&P classes do transfer to CA community colleges, so I would think they would transfer to the Cal State system as well, but your best bet would be to call the schools you're applying to first to check.

Hi Meloney... are you just taking Micro at National.. or are you doing the rn program over there? Just wondering how the class is laid out over there at national. I also have a full time job and would like to know how stressful it is if i had to balance the two.

I'm just taking the pre-reqs at National. I don't know anything about the experience of going through the actual nursing program, sorry.

hey... I'm about to start the RN/BSN program and National and i was told that it is extremely intense because it's 22 months, instead of 3+ years. You probably won't want to work alot and attend this program...

anybody who has got into national, did they find the process extremely competetive like sdsu and other local schools?

I got into National Univ. as well as CSUSM's accelerated program. I think both of the schools use a point system. I think it was really important to do well in your nursing pre-reqs. I got A's in all of mine. Your personal statement should also set you apart from the rest of the students. I wrote my essay on my experience working as a clinical assistant in a hospital in New York City.

Is there anyone who has started National's RN program? I have heard some not-so-great things about it and the clinicals, but I'm still really interested and would like some more information from alumni.

So did you choose which school you would attend? Wow, that's great the you had the chance to choose between which one you'd like to go to. I'm currently a student at National University's Accelerated BSN program. We are in our Med-Surg I rotation right now. I started with the April cohort. I don't know much about CSU SM program but I can speak somewhat for National's program. I think what I really like about the program is that the last 5-6 classes are online classes, being that I have experience with online classes. (Some people don't like online classes). So far, I don't really have much complaints about the program, I mean every program will have it's positives and negatives as you will find out. If you have any questions about National's program, I'll try to answer them to the best of my knowledge.

Honestly,

I did not find it as competitive as the CSU's and other schools. The cost is fairly higher, but if you don't want to wait another 2-3 years to get into a public school, I guess private university is the way to go. There's programs/employers which will pay for your student loans when you finish school/get your license.
