To all who have taken Med/Surg. I have Med/Surg next semester, and I heard its the "make or break" semester for students at my school.
What was/is most helpful to you with Med/Surg? Do you have a favorite study aide? I heard Med/Surg Made Incredibly Easy is good. Do you agree, can you tell me what really helped you with the course?

I absolutely love all of the Made Incredibly Easy Books, and I do have the Med Surg one still after graduation, I use it for reference occasionally or just to refresh myself on topics I dont remember.

These books are easy to read, yet give you a comprehensive understanding of each med surg topic. If im not mistaken, they have NCLEX questions at the end of the chapters in this book to help prepare you.

I highly recommend these books- I also recommend flash cards, which helped me study.

I just finished my med-surg semester and I found Prentice Hall's "Medical-Surgical Reviews and Rationales" to be the most helpful. Our med-surg book is over 2,000 pages and next to impossible to read. The reviews and rationales book sums up the most important points about each topic and gives a pre-test, a post-test, and a website with additional practice questions. Each chapter also has a case study with the answers in the back. I don't think I could have made it through without this book!! Good luck - and don't worry - this class was not as bad as everyone makes it out to be as long as you stay on top of it and never get behind!

I have the "made easy" med/surg book and i love it.

The Made Easy books are great. For clinicals I loved the Lippincott Manual for Nursing which breaks things down nice and simple and it's small enough to fit in a lab coat pocket.

I have to know why something is the way it is - so I love NCLEX review books so I can read the rationals. My fav. is Saunders NCLEX review (big blue book).

Can't say enough good things about that book and how it's saved my &#% on many tests!!!

i got the saunders nclex review and the nclex-rn review made incredibly easy.

But to be honest, you just have to study your arse off! It is soooo much info in such a short span of time you will hardly be able to soak it all in! I just finished with a 90.8 avg and I don't know how I pulled that one off...I was a walking ball of stress the whole semester.

I am a graduating LPN Dec. 14 and I used the Saunders comprehensive review for PN nclex book, it was very helpful for me and covers each area, breaks it down in an outline and goes right along with what we learned from our textbook. OUr textbook had a workbook that went along with it and it really helped, I read the chapter , did the workbook and reviewed on the NCLEX and by test day I was well prepared. Things that were a little harder for me to remember I put on flash cards. Good luck to you!
