i picked up the syllabus for 1520 today....its the only one terry has so far....it dosent seem to bad....it actually mabe me feel a little less nervous....then again i havent seen the other two yet

I have myself pretty worked up over starting (and not till January!) but I have to imagine that since the drop rate for Macomb isn't very high (I don't remember the stats but I do know my friend in the accelerated group said they only lost 2-3 people from a group of 30) the courses must not be that bad? Either that or the way they rank everyone for acceptance assures a decent level of intelligence in the students ! I look forward to reading about your experiences as I wait to dive in too !

I haven't had a chance to get over and pick up the syllabus yet...just how many chapters do they have us reading prior to the first class? I'm really worried since I'm leaving on vacation this Saturday and won't be back until the 19th. I plan on taking my books with me but am worried I'll have something like 15 chapters to read before classes start!

9 pages in the fundamentals book and two chapters in the health assessment book....but like i said that is only 1520 so i dont know how much reading there will be for the other two classes....hopefully not to much....i hope you have a great vacation

tricia....the syllabus is messed up as far as i can tell for the taylor reading....the pages that they tell us to read dont seem to correlate with the book....let me know if you figure it out....maybe im just looking at it wrong....but for instance it says to read pages 77-79....but those are practice tests and a bibliography....i called the college and they dont have any answers....just said they would let the professor know on friday....anyways when you get it ckeck it out and let me know....who knows maybe i have the wrong book lol....that would be just my luck

Hey Erika, I just picked up the syllabus for each class today (they now have 1510/1520/1530) and Terri mentioned that there seemed to be a problem with the page numbers not matching up with the 1520 syllabus. She said all she could suggest was to look at what the objectives were for that day, and read up on those points. I have been gone all day and haven't yet had a chance to compare the book to the syllabus...but I did have a long wait at the car dealership in which to skim through the syllabus ($408 for brakes/oil change/air filter! @%*!) I doubt I'll get a chance tomorrow either, I have to be down at Children's Hosp with my daughter for a very unpleasant test (I really wish they would share the sedation drugs with the parents!)

The syllabus for each 1510 and 1530 were VERY thin in comparison to 1520's...somehow I doubt that means they'll be any easier! I also found out from Teri that we are not to wear our uniforms to the 1530 class until later on...week 7 I think. I also asked if we were to bring all of our books to class, and she suggested bringing whichever books our readings were from for that session...I'll probably just bring all of my books anyway, at least until the instructor says otherwise.

thanks for the tips im going to pick up the other two on monday....i hope everything goes well with your daughter....i know how hard it is to see your kids being poked and proded....take care and i guess we'll be meeting in just a couple weeks

tricia....could you tell me what 1510 and 1530 syllabus consists of...i had picked up 1520 and today in the mail they sent me 1510 and 1530 syllabus and first day handouts....is that all that was included or do i still need to pick up something from the office....it just threw me for a loop because they are so much thinner than 1530....your help is appreciated

The 1510 syllabus consists is 3 pages, and the 1510 first day handout is 4 pages.

The 1530 syllabus is 4 pages, and the 1530 first day handout is 7 pages.

I still haven't had a chance to really sit down and sort through them or organize them...tomorrow I am hopefully just staying home to pack for vacation and organize my syllabus. I think I am going to end up just putting the syllabus in a 1-inch binder by itself. I usually divide one binder into each class with the syllabus and include notes and handouts for each class, but if I do that I'll be walking around with a 4 or 5 inch binder!
