I'd think Emory's about 50/50, as they have a thing going with Dell, so either way, I think you'd be fine...I'm relatively certain that all the Emory clinics/hospitals I went to used Dell, but don't quote me on that...
Forgot to say...the majority of the computers at the Emory library are Dell, unless they did a total remake of the entire library this summer...so there are PCs around for sure...

Well, seeing as I'm a poor, poor, lass, I have to use a PC. In my school, they do not require PDAs. It's a great tool if you're able to get your hands on one and on a laptop, but it is not required. My PC has been very useful and I've been able to find all of the information and do all of my work with my lowly ( ) PC. So, if you're stuck with a PC, just make the best of it and take the "juice" out of it!

I have a Mac Laptop and a PC desktop and a Pocket PC PDA .... it is just what I ended up with. I am in the process of going totally Mac because My Powerbook is very new - so my next purchase will be a palm PDA so that I can use it with my Mac - then I will be able to give my PC to my children to play with.
Mac's are awesome ... so easy to use. As long as you go with the palm PDA you should be OK.

Because stats show that Mac users are among the most intelligent. I guess we're a smart bunch.

Another proud Mac user... once you go Mac, you never go back!
I love my iBook - just got it about a month ago, and so far it has been fantastic. No problems downloading anything, and I also have Office for Mac, too, which has been a huge help. My school submits pretty much everything online, and no one has had any problem opening/downloading documents I've sent from my Mac. A friend in the program has a Palm and an iBook and says the two work great together.
I've been a lifelong Mac user (well, ever since they came out) and I have to say that I have never, ever had any problems with my Macs crashing, losing documents, or any of the problems that crop up so often with PC users. My hubby's PC sucks - crashes all the time, does that "illegal operation/must shut down" BS about once a week, usually in the middle of something important. It's only a year old! Macs never do that.
IMHO, it's worth plunking the extra few hundred for the peace of mind, the user-friendliness, and the loyalty of your computer to you. It will save you that much more in headaches and repair costs!

That's where you're wrong.

I used a PC for the fist semester of nursing school. I bought an ibook at the start of the second semester. I had used Macs before, but it was years ago. I love my Mac and I will never, ever go back to PC. Palms sync fine, and I have Office for my Mac and have never had any problems opening any files from PCs.

I have a Mac (iBook) that I got for school, and there were several applications that I had to open that would only open for a PC ("MS-DOS.exe" files especially--got lots of those!). Super frustrating. This is in addition to the CDs that come with the books (including some NCLEX books)--they won't run on my Mac (well, some say that I need an *older* version of Mac OS--which I don't have--to run the CD apps). So I'd hesitatingly recommend a PC because of compatibility issues you may encounter. "Hesitatingly" because I got so fed up with PC crashes, freezes and vulnerabilities that I wanted to switch over. But the switch came with it's own set of problems. Oh, and Macs don't come with a forward delete button--a key I still miss having (you can still forward delete, but with two keys clear across the board from each other). I havn't been really won over with either a Mac *or* a PC.
