loop diuretics given with blood

loop diuretics may be administered with blood to prevent symptoms of fluid volume excess in clients who are not volume depleted.

Whole blood may cause circulatory overload.

Packed RBCs will increase the oncotic pressure and pull fluid into the intravascular space

My question - are loop diuretics given with packed RBCs?

Re: loop diuretics given with blood

It's not at all uncommon for us to give an IVP of Lasix after a unit, between units if more than one, for PRBC.
