Re: Littmann classic vs. lightweight

I have a lightweight and find that it works for me....that being said the people who have the classic really really like the classic and don't like the lightweight at all. Sorry, I'm not more of a help, just my experiance.

Me too! In fact maybe that will be my "reward" for getting through second semester! A Littman classic!

Does anyone know the best place to buy a littman? Online? Bricks and Mortar?
Thanks!

I honestly can't say enough nice things about www.reddingmedical.com I am not associated with them!!! I bought a stethoscope from them with laser engraving and I had it in 24 hours. I don't know how they did it. I didn't pay for expedited shipping either...it was supposed to take a good week. 24 hours later and it was at my door as ordered. For me ordering online is just easier. I have also bought from www.allheart.com and the transaction was okay but it took a while for things to come...weeks. I think allheart may have been a few $ cheaper but I would rather spend the extra couple $ to not have to worry if it's really coming or if it's lost.

Some people will like B&M because they can touch it and see it. I'm that way with a lot of things but for the stethoscope I just needed easy and reliable.

Re: Littmann classic vs. lightweight

I love my littmann classic!!!! It has been a great stethescope for me. The other side can be used to listen to deeper heart tones...you just click the tubing around the steth. I may be working Peds in a few weeks, and will probably get a pediatric littmann.

Re: Littmann classic vs. lightweight

I have the Master Classic II SE, I started out with the lightweight and found it to be just that. I have slight hearing deficits with low tones and have found that the extra money spent was well worth it. I like the one-sided Master chestpiece.

"Acoustics
Compared to the traditional two-sided Littmann Classic II stethoscope, the high frequency response of the Littmann Master Classic II stethoscope is outstanding, allowing you to hear even faint lung sounds. The low frequency response is also significantly improved. Its excellent overall acoustics offer an advantage to heath care professionals who listen to both heart and lung sounds. It's also ideal for pulmonologists and respiratory therapists."

I used the website www.Steeles.com because they laser engrave the bell (the expensive part), not the tubing. I got it super quick, 5 days, with engraving, unheard of. Couldn't be more pleased.
