Hey guys, new here. Awesome site for information!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm doing a group project about nursing liability. I have no idea where to start. We were hoping to do some kind of video with a skit but we're not sure what would be good to do. Due to non-stop studying and 9 hour school days our brains are shot! If anyone has any ideas or information it would be greatly appreciated. I've done some research of my own and found some great stuff but if anyone has experience with liability/malpractice or a possible skit idea, as I said before, it would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe something purely nursing, such as administering a drug as ordered, but failing to perform required assessments, resulting in patient harm? I'm thinking about a case I heard about, in labor/delivery, where the nurse administered Pit as ordered, but failed to properly monitor the patient, resulting in a ruptured uterus, emergency c-section, and hypoxia to the infant during birth.
Something to show that following orders exactly as written does not mean that a nurse can't be negligent in her nursing duties.

Yeah, I was also thinking about a medication error, it seems to be the most common mistake. We're humans mistakes happen! I was thinking like maybe a patient with an allergy to morphine and the nurse simply overlooking the allergy resulting in an anaphylactic shock or something of that nature.

Meds. are a great idea, you could also try patient confidentiality or safety (both big legal hot spots). Good luck.
