Last Quarter LPN Student, Start Job Search Now?

I am a LPN student that will be graduating September 22. When do I start applying for positions. I am interested in working in a hospital. I see a lot a lpn jobs posted on the hospital sites but as I am not licensed or graduated yet, do I contact a nurse recruiter at the hospital? Can I have a job offer in place before I even pass the NCLEX? I had heard that hospitals aren't offering sign on bonuses anymore. Is that true? Thanks for your help.

Re: Last Quarter LPN Student, Start Job Search Now?

I would contact them now, I have a friend in the LPN program at my school who was hired as a tech until she graduates, then she'll have orientation training and work as a graduate-LPN untill she takes the NCLEX-PN which I believe the hospital may also be paying for as well, I have a scholarship thru a hospital and they pay for a review course as well as teh exam itself

Re: Last Quarter LPN Student, Start Job Search Now?

Thanks for the input. As it stands now my last clinical semester is Med-Surg at the hospital I am interested in working at. Med-Surg at this hospital is where I have wanted to work when I graduate. Just didn't know if it would be a conflict of interests because of school. Your friend sounds like she got a great deal.
