Katie,
As you are taking the GRE, I assume you're applying to the BSN/MSN combination option, not just the ABSN. Have you designated a specialty at this point, or are you undecided? I'm applying early decision for the Acute Care NP track. JHU is my first choice, although I'm also applying to Columbia, Samuel Merritt College, Oregon Health & Science University and possibly Yale (GEPN). I'm taking the GRE in early October, and although the admissions officers claim that all they require is 1000 combined v/q and 4.5 AW, I'm still nervous.
The program is fairly competitive; there receive 1000 applications for 300 spots, split between the Traditional track and Accelerated track (about 120-150 acceptances into each). They claim to receive twice as many apps for Acc. v. Traditional. Strong applicants will have a 3.3-3.6 GPA cumulative. There is also a mandatory interview for all complete applications received, around December/January depending on if you've applying early decision or not. I would recommend emailing an admissions director listed on the JHU SON website directly, they are super quick to reply and very thorough when answering a barrage of questions. There are also live chats that take place every month or so where you are able to log in and speak to at least five to ten admissions and financial aid officers from the school. I'm not sure where you are located, but the fall Open House is occurring on the campus in October. There is also a west coast Fall Reception in Berkeley, California on September 26th.
I started a thread previously, please feel free to join us (see link below). There are a handful of JHU applicants around.
