It's early though, may change my mind. That's what's so great about nursing, you can do one thing for a while then do something totally different when you get tired of it.

Was (and still am ) a veterinary technician for 9 years. Going from 4 legged to 2 legged. Believe it or not from what I have seen in clinicals human patients are more sane than pet owners.

It's nice to be in web community where we all know what each other is going through.

I, too, am a veterinary technician: 12 years. My veterinary collegues all go "Ugh, why do you want to work with humans?" I am in my final quarter before the dreaded NCLEX. Just trying to keep it together and get through. Best of luck to everyone.

Oh, no children without fur or feathers: a dog, three cats, and a cockatiel.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Just thought I'd introduce myself as well! I joined the "allnurses" forum last night. I start TOMORROW as a student in a 4 semester RN program. When I graduate in May 2010 I'll have an associates degree in nursing!

I'm a 26 y/o mother of 1 and wife. My daughter turns 4 on Aug 23.... I am from Carthage Mississippi, and am attending Meridian Community College. I'll drive about 130 miles round trip to school. Our 1st semester class meets 3 days a week. My schedule for this semester is
Tuesday 8-12
Wednesday 8-12
Thursday--clinical day 7:30-1:20

I'm SUPER excited about starting, but the nerves have hit me today!!

Hope to get to know bunches of ya'll on this board and make tons of friends along our journey into nursing school!

I also have a myspace and facebook account!

myspace.com/mandals0810

and my facebook username is also mandals0810

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

I am new here too and thought I'd say hello to everyone here HELLO! lol

Hi I'm Marian but you guys can just call me Mai I'm 23 years old, no kids (hoping I'll have one soon) and soon to be married to the man of my dreams (prolly next year - okay you didn't have to know that lol). Anyway, I finished my BSN degree 2 years ago but have not practiced since due to personal reasons and practiced a different profession instead

I decided to go back to uni and get a conversion degree in Australia so I can practice there and refresh my mind as well (*fingers crossed*). Like most here.. I am hoping I'll get THE letter soon and hopefully I'll be this happy: I didn't have the heart for nursing before but now I am really missing it and realized this is what I really want to do.. I would do anything to get back on that track.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

I'm Mary, 51, kids grown and out of the house. I'm in my first semester of Nursing school (Lincoln Univ.). I took my first test last night, and am waiting for results. There were several things on the test that we never went over, or was in our assigned reading. I don't know why they test us on it, when it wasn't part of our learning. Anyway, I think I did well. Anyone else in the classes find tests to be this way?
