Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hello, I'm Allison 36 and just moved in here from the pre-student forum. I got my acceptance letter today, I will start in the Fall of 08'. I am very exicted to be on my way to becomming an RN. I have two children, Kalista 9 and Bradley 6. We were all jumping up and down today like fools when the letter came. The kiddos know how important this is for all of us.
Orientation is in July and I need to become CPR certified prior to starting.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hi all! Manda, 26 in Eastern Iowa, wrapping up my last year of pre-req's. Got accepted into the ADN program for the fall, which will begin for me in August! No kids, not married, none of that fun stuff. Just working full-time trying to pay for school. I have about four years experience working as an HCA in the community but I currently work outside of the medical field. Superbly excited to be starting the program in the fall and look forward to talking more with all of you.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hello....Im Kat, 36 and finishing up my 4th semester ADN. Will graduate in May.
My advice to new students....dont listen to other students negativity and hype over content and tests. If you are comfortable with how you study, stick to it and close your ears! Good luck!

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hello All!
My name is Lindsey. I will be starting my nursing program Fall of '08. I will be balancing nursing classes and wedding planning (alone, because y Fiance is at the Air Force Academy 1500 miles away), so this should be fun, hehe. I am so thankful for finding this site! I have a feeling I will be here often! ;-)

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Holy wow -- this is an old thread.

My name is Kristen. I'm 24 and I have a previous BS in dietetics. I'm 2 weeks away from finishing my first semester of a 4 semester ADN program.

Right now, my interests lie in GI and onco, but who knows, those could change.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hi everyone

I've posted on here before but it was a long time ago now lol. Well now I'm entering year four of the BScN program and am about to do my ER consolodation. I couldn't be more excited!!!!! Not only am I getting close to graduating, but I get to complete my training in the place I want to work!! (which is hard here because there is a lot of competition to get into emerg)... anyway, just really really excited. To those of you just starting out... it seems like it will take forever but it WON'T!!!

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hi I'm Jess. I'm a little late to the Student boards considering I graduate in a month and already have a job I'm a slightly crunchy mom of three kids ages 10, 7, and 3. I'll be graduating from an ADN program and have a job on a Med/Surg floor and plan to move to an LDRP until in a year or so.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

I guess I'll use this to formally introduce myself! I'm 20, I'm from Missouri, and I'm starting the Accelerated BSN program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis on May 12th. I currently work for a daycare, but my last day is Friday I'm gonna miss my kiddos!! I'm also finishing up the last pre-requisites...Statistics, Bioethics, Nutrition, and Interpersonal Communication. I've enjoyed taking all the pre-requisites, however I'm feeling very ready for the next step in life! If all goes well with my accelerated program, I should graduate by August of 2009!! Anywho, I feel much better now that I've actually "introduced" myself. LOVE the site!
