Talking Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hi!!

Wow! I haven't read all the posts (it would prolly take me a few million hours to read 5 years' worth!) most people must have graduated by now!!

My name is Anne-Marie, I am from Australia, and it seems we do things differently over here! I am married with three girls 18month old, 4 and 8.

I am at Uni doing B.Nursing (as that is the only way to get your qualification) Three years (2 semesters per year), and we only get to have patient contact for a certain period of time. THis is my first year and I have done semester one and semester 2 will be my first prac/field placement and I am sooo excited but real nervous!!

So, I will be around here and look forward to reading all about your journies!!

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hi - I'm new here too!
Just started in on my first lecture courses at the new university. I already have a B.A. but I fell in love with helping expectant moms with their deliveries. So I started out as a volunteer birth doula and I loooooved it. I want to get my B.S.N. and then eventually work on getting my Masters in Nursing so that I can be a midwife. I can't wait!

Probably gonna need a lot of advice from all of you experienced people. Hope ya'll don't mind.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Never saw this before lol. My name is Larry and I am from Pennsylvania. I am 23 years old and I graduated in June 2007. I am taking boards on September 27, 2007.
I am single and nursing is my first career (not counting my store clerk time period from age 17-22). I have my ADN right now, but I am going to get my BSN with a minor in Biochemistry. My biggest goal is to become a Nurse Anesthetist, and eventually a DNp.

Re: Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

Hi, I'm still in the pre req stage, start anatomy and physiology tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous about it. :S My goal is to take pre reqs for both an ADN and a BSN, apply for both programs and go wherever I'm accepted.

I'm going back to school after an almost 18 year break, because it took me a while to decide this is really what I want to do. I see pretty much everyone here is already in a program of some kind, I am hoping that I can get into one, too.

Nice to meet everyone.

HI,

I just started a 7-semester RN program 2 weeks ago at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago. I am 43 year old and LOVING being back in school full-time. I quit my full time job of 17 years and have no regrets whatsoever! My first exams are this week and I'm kind of freakin' ( especially over Patho), but i'm not alone; everyone in my class is! I hope to come onto this site occasionaly to find out what other students are experiencing and to find some support and share experiences.
