Hi everyone!

My name is Rose, I'm 26, and I live in lovely western Washington. I have a BS in psychology, and I just finished my pre-reqs and am now impatiently waiting to hear if I've been accepted into an ADN program that will start in January. No idea of what I want to specialize in yet...it seems to change everyday! (Or everytime I watch the Discovery Health channel! )

No kids yet...but I'm a devoted mom to my two mini dachshunds, Tessa and Theo.

It's great to meet you all, and makes me feel good to know there's people out there to turn to when nursing school starts to get rough! Best of luck to everyone!

Hi, I'm Hope--23 year old mother of no-one :P Wife to a great man, and starting my pre-reqs for the RN two-year program at my local college. I went to college for three years in Louisiana--almost got an art degree, so I guess I'll try to finish that!! I'll be the nurse with oil paint all over her scrubs

I'm looking for nurses in the DFW area...my friend and I are starting the program together, and we'd LOVE someone to talk to about...well....everything

My Turn!

I'm Bev. I'm 31, man-less, kid-less and currently jobless. But the jobless thing will change eventually. I'm giving up on the kid thing, still a bit hopeful on the man thing.

I decided to become a nurse after a car accident. I was in the hospital for about 2-1/2 months and really got interested in nursing as a result. Of course, finding a program that didn't have a 12-mile-long waiting list was a bit of a problem, but I think I've just solved that one. Waiting to hear back, but the girl I talked to said that she didn't forsee a problem with me getting into the program that starts in August 2003, so I'm super-hopeful about all this!

My biggest struggle with the nursing thing has been trusting myself. In the car accident, I suffered some head trauma, and my memory was really bad for quite awhile. So, now I'm really paranoid that I'll forget something important, even though I've taught myself to write everything down. Not to mention, I had a moment that I describe as me getting my memory back. I had really lousy short-term memory, and one morning, while I was in the bathtub, I realized that I remembered all the things I had to do for that day. It probably seems small to most of you, but to me, it was the moment that I became "normal" again.

I'm really feeling like this might be my chance to help other patients who are like I was. I didn't have any nurses to explain my head injury to me, and I think that the doctors were more concerned about my orthopedic injuries than anything else. I did some web research after my accident, so much of what I know about my injuries, I taught myself. I'm lucky, because I knew how to teach myself, but there are people out there who are not as able as I was/am after my accident. My new mission is to help those people out.

Smile

Hi everyone! I'm Stacey, 31 yrs old, wife and mother to 3 boys (ages 9,6 and2) I attend a large University and finding that I love school! Although I suck at chemistry I'm having a horrible time in that class but doing very well in my other classes.

I'm finishing my pre-reqs this semester and want to apply for nursing school in a few weeks. I have rec'd my cpr cert. and taken the NET test but have to retake the comprehension/reading portion of the test before I can turn in my application.

It's very interesting reading about everyone!
