Hello everyone... I'm starting a "new" career... Much like Shelby88669, I have Micro left as a pre-req. Scheduled to Start clinicals in Fall '03 unless I get lucky. Hopeing for Spring '03.
I have a beautiful 16 Y.O. daughter and a wonderful husband of 17 years. I work full-time for Lockheed and own a small electrical company. Have 2 associates degrees... And, have maintained a 3.5 GPA (even though I can't spell). Things are very, very busy for me.
If you guys are up to it... I do have a few questions.... How are you guys handleing the fact that your lifestyles are changed? Usually, I'm a very social and a physically active person (spearfishing, tennis etc.). I've adjusted to studying all the time very well. However, I find it hard to turn down family and friends when asked to do things (i.e. friends ask to go diving and family cook-outs). I haven't had any contact with a close friend in over a month. Nursing is so important to me and I've had to schedule my time so tight. Sometimes, I think they don't understand. Have any of you guys had to deal with anything like this?
Also, in regards to allnurses.com, how do I get my user name changed?

Missy, and welcome! I am taking school one day at a time. I sit here to relieve my mind from studying. I study every day and then some. Lots Of Love. There isn't much time for anything else but you have to make time for your immediate family and for yourself, if only a few minutes a day.
You could PM or email Brian and ask to have your user name change.
All the best to you.

I am currently finishing pre-reqs, hope to begin my first semester in January. I am really excited and nervous. Any hints for studying or just surviving the program? I am 33 years old and have 2 daughters, Jackie is almost 7 and Jessica is 4. Hope to hear from some of you.
