I am a senior nursing student. I had a baby during the semester, I ended up withdrawing from the critical care course it was too much. I decided that due to finances and my need to start working that as soon as I had the baby (c-section ) I would go back to class. I took off 2 weeks and resumed classes. It seems I couldn't catch up. I didn't have study time, I felt like a mom, not like a student at all. Once I was in the house I was mom to my 2 boys and wife to my husband not at all the "nursing student". Well the teacher gave me the option to withdraw and I said no, I wanted to fight and try my best. I took my final today and It was not good enough. I have to retake the course and it is not even offered again until next year. I want to quit so badly..But this is the last class !!!I will not give up, this career is meant for me. Everyone I come across gives me such positive feedback, be it teachers, patients.. I know this is for me, and yes I would like to quit... But I will not quit. I am discouraged all my friends are RN's and I am stuck. But I will not quit.. I will not..
Thanks
HERE'S A POEM THAT SOMEONE GAVE ME THAT MAY HELP....
"When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest! if you must; but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow;
You might succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit;
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit."
