Worried - I think I failed my Algebra final

I came home and threw up.

I am "mathematically challenged", lol, so I put in endless hours of study time in this class. Even more so than in A&P. I have done so well in this class to date (with tons of hard work) that I only needed a lousy 60% to pull off an A for my final grade. Now I think I am facing a B.

I know some of you will say that a B is great, and it is. However, this was sort of the "monkey on my back" class. I wanted that A so bad just to prove to myself that no matter how hard I thought something was, I could still excel at it if I put my mind to it. I just feel like crap now.

I don't understand what happened. I spent more than 12 hours in the past 2 days studying all the material she told us would be on the final. I show up to take it and she tells the class that this is a final the head of the math department wants every teacher to use. To say that the teacher didn't prepare her class well enough would be an easy excuse. But there were problems on that final that I swear I've never seen before. I just basically used the quadratic equation for everything and prayed for the best

Sorry for the long rant. I feel I let myself down and that truly feels like crap. I suppose we are our own worst enemy.

Re: I think I failed my Algebra final

Algebra is all about learning to use the right processes to solve any problem, whether you've seen it before or not. If you feel confident that you know those processes, I wouldn't be surprised if your results are much better than you expect. Good luck.
