I have a BAD attitude

Okay seriously I am getting on my own nerves. I am in my second semester of an ADN program, it is mental health and I just hate it. It isn't just the clinical rotation it is also everything else. I can't find any kind of studying routine, I feel as if I am being tortured during lecture and weekly clinicals and there is just so much to do in such a short time. My grades are not that great either (good enough) - totally reflecting my awful attitude. I am not normally like this at all so any positive suggestions would be great. I really did well last semster and am so stuck this summer, I just want/need to get through this.
Thanks for the help!

Re: I have a BAD attitude

What kind of study methods have you tried? I havent taken my mental health class (I start it in August) but I know that this is a class many of the students at my school have difficulty with so you are not alone. But do you have a study group or have you tried note cards or just copying your notes. I am an auditory learner so in my classes I have found it helpful to read my notes aloud. I hope you find something that will help. Is there a forum on here for mental health nurses? If so they maybe able to help. Also, take sometime to relax and do not thing of nursing at all even if its just for an hour. This can often really help. Good luck!

Hey-I am also at PVCC and I just wanted to say that second semester was hardest for me, too. I hated Mental Health and was stressed all semester. Plus the instructor was a complete nut.

Anyway, hang in there. Come senior semester you will look back and see all you learned from the struggles as well as the successes.

PM me and I can give you some specific advice!
