HAPPY!! - I finished my first skills assessment today!

I promise I won't post these very week, but this was a HUGE relief to get the first one out of the way.

My hands were shaking like a leaf that I could hardly do the sterile glove procedure, and the BP cuff they had us use was NOT the one I had been practicing with, and when I released the valve the teeniest tinest bit, all the air rushed out....it was sensitive!

I wasn't sure if I had passed or not, but I heard later that if you didn't, they would tell you right then, and it's a pass/fail thing.

It's just a relief to know the first major step is out of the way.

Now back to the books!

Re: I finished my first skills assessment today!

Congrats! We have our first one on the 18th and I'm scared to death! In my program, if we fail with less than 75% we are out of nursing school. I hope that I'll be posting something similar soon. You should definitely give yourself a pat on the back because nursing skills are not the easiest thing in the world!
