I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Hi everyone!

I don't know what I want to do when I graduate. I used to have my heart set on certain specialty fields; however, the more I'm exposed to, the more I wonder.

I know this sounds silly, but I really enjoy med-surg. I don't care for the physician/nurse relationships on med-surg though. I LOVE the elderly and pediatrics both. However, I don't want to "trap" myself into med-surg.

I'm not an adrenaline junkie by any means, but I really enjoyed the ICU (hated the ER).

Do any of you feel like this? I'm 5 months from graduating and I have to have my mind made up in a few months when I begin to apply for jobs.

Thank you,
Dani

Re: I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Dani - I could have written your post myself, LOL! I am also 5 months from graduation and I go back and forth a lot too. I tell myself I am going to have to decide something soon as I need to start applying for jobs! I have it narrowed down between 3 different areas, and I think I will just go with whichever one I get a job in...that would make me believe that is where God wants me to be. I see a lot of classmates who are sure of where they will be working, and then I see many like us. I don't think we're as alone and out of control as we feel.

PM me if you ever wanna talk, I definitely know how you are feeling. Good luck!!
