Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I have posted. Hope everyone is well. I am sooo HAPPY I received my letter of acceptance into the nursing program for this FALL>. I didn't think I would get in this soon. They offer it also in the winter which I thought that I might but I am actually starting in less than two months. I couldn't sleep last night because my mind is wandering of how the H*** am I going to pull this off. Money Money Money. I have a mortgage, I have two kids. I have tried to plan this all out but it didn't work how I planed. My mother said I could move in with her in the winter and put my house up for rent, but what a drastic change. My whole life is about to change, and I kept thinking about all the money I will owe in the end becuz of student loans, what if I fail, what if I just don't understand. So much. I started a job in the ER about a few months ago as a nurse extern/ emergency room tech asistant and I watch those nurses all day like WOW they really know all their stuff, could my brain possibly be able to make the right decisions like them could I possibly be able to know how to handle a situation like they do. I worked so hard to get where I am and my kids are so proud and excited Mommy is starting nursing and I want to be excited but I just am getting the jitters. Know what you mean. I can't sleep either. Money Money Money. Then I am trying to figure out how to get kids to school and the little one to daycare when I have to do clinicals and who is going to pick them up if I can't and dance class, Brownie meetings,etc. When am I going to be able to grocery shop.? What if my husband has to travel for work at the same time my mom has to travel which sometime happens. It is all craziness to worry about it now I know and I should be enjoying my summer but I just want to get started and finally start working. I have wanted this for so long and now it is getting so close I am getting anxious.

It will be fine in the end we just got to pull ourselves together get it done and do the best we can in the process. I am sure glad it isn't just me though my husband thinks I am off my rocker and is getting concerned that I won't be able to handle the stress of nursing school if I am stressed now.

Don't borrow trouble ladies, it all will work out when it has to. I have done this with 4 kids, who are very active. My children's activities involve traveling away on weekends, my husbands job has the worst schedule imaginable so many times I was working things out right as they were happening. You will be amazed at how helpful the other moms are at brownies and dance. Most of the moms I come into contact with are amazed that I go to school and the kids are as active as they are and are always willing to help out. I don't rely on them for a lot, but in a pinch I know I can ask.

Congratulations on beginning nursing school! I think all nursing students have had "the jitters" regarding nursing school, learning all the info, and especially after seeing experienced nurses in action. You'll do fine, and even though it's a major change if you want to be a nurse bad enough then things WILL work out and it will all be worth it. I always say if nursing school was easy then everyone would do it. Good luck!
