If you look on Ebay...there is a lady that sells these really cute beaded name tags for stethescopes. She sells them in lots but I imagine if you contacted her she'd sell them individually. I just saw them a few minutes ago. They were so cute!

I was told no. It makes sense, the sounds are disapated (sp?)into the chest piece and through the tubing. As long as there are no punctures you are good.

If your tubing is light enough, write your name right on the tubing in black pen (not sharpie, just a regular ball pt pen) When you wipe over it with an alcohol wipe it will fade very slightly but still be readable, never fades completely.

Get a permanent marker in gold or silver and write your name on the tubing. Also, I just got one of those supercharms on eBay engraved with my name and initials and used the charms to make a little ID tag. It looks classy. And a big also ---> never lend it. If a doctor or nurse or whomever needs a stethoscope at work, then they should be bringing their own with them. I just tell people, nicely, "no" and if they protest then I tell them that they don't want my ear infection. That always does the trick.

I took mine to a jewler and had my name engraved on the metal head.
Did not affect the acoustics at all.

Mine has my name engraved on the metal tubing AND a name tag, but I'm seriously thinking about having it somehow permanently attached to my person. Especially since my CI warned me that somebody was sure to run off with my Littman Cardiology scope only to have HER abscond with it

Check out the engraving here: http://www.stethoscopes.com/

They do some fine looking work....
