I'm gonna shoot for 6 when I work the night before, but I'm sleeping hardcore when I'm completely off....looks like every Sunday and Monday I'm totally off....YAY!
I think work and family play a large role in the amount of sleep a nursing student is able to get, i.e., how much sleep do you have time for....
But to your question - I have been getting between 7-8 hours of sleep prior to class and clinicals. During my 2 month externship working nights, I was able to get the same amount sleeping days between shifts.
With all this studies to do, I am thinking roughly 5 hrs
Same for me too, 5-6. My hubby lets me sleep in on Sundays. (If he didn't I would disown him) LOL. I know it will get worse once I start the core part of the nursing program in january.
I'm not a student yet (that starts next week), but right now I'm averaging about 6 hours a day. I have a toddler that likes to start his day around 5:30am and no one around to take him so I can sleep in. I can steal a bit more on the weekends as Bob the Builder and Thomas come on pretty early and that will entertain him as I catch a few more z's.
I'm aiming for that amount during school. I've learned over the years I can't really function on less than that, so I'll just have to make it all work somehow.
I do 4-6 hours and seem to be ok with it. That is a lot better than the 3 hour naps I survived on for the first 2 semesters of nursing school. I have 1.5 semesters left and I wonder if I will ever sleep more than 6 hrs in a row again.
Between 4 to 6 if I'm lucky. I'm a pretty bad insomniac and a total night owl. I have an awful time actually settling myself down even if I'm exhausted. The stress keeps me awake. However, because I've been like that since I was young I have an easy time functioning on 3 or so hours of sleep. My body is used to it.
