Talking Assistance - Good Idea for Student Teaching

Hi everyone!
I am in my last semester of nursing school (RN) and we will be doing a lot of managing this semester. I am required to do a teaching project for the nursing students who are a year behind me (they are in their second semester). I was hoping you guys might could give me some ideas as to what I could do my teaching/lecture about. It seems as though everyone else is already doing their teaching on the fun stuff...like test taking strategies, how to work the IV pumps and dynamaps, Diabetes, etc... I would really like my teaching to be beneficial to the students and creative at the same time! I greatly appreciate any ideas!!! PLEASE HELP! Thanks everyone!

How about time management? I find this to be a big hurdle for some students. You could offer suggestions on how to bundle together certain tasks to save time, etc.

Re: Good Idea for Student Teaching

I 2nd time management, but what about documentation, proper ways to time meds, how to round with a doctor, even the fact that they might someday HAVE to make a bed!
rack your brain, and think of what you didn't know that you wish you would have when you were a 2nd semester student....

Handwashing! You can include information about the use of the gel cleaners, etc.

Time management is HUGE. Great idea!

I'd do a presentation on careplans. Something understandable that cuts right through the mumble jumble and that's easy to understand.
