Re: ECC/NL/CCCCD Fall '06 Schedules

Hi!

I'm at El Centro 2nd semester in Fall '06.

My schedule in the Fall looks pretty hectic and I'm thankful I don't have any support courses left to take! I'll be at Charlton Methodist, Dallas Methodist, and Children's this semester. I am excited about the material this next semester.

Good luck to you in your nursing education!

Re: ECC/NL/CCCCD Fall '06 Schedules

I'm a 1st semester nursing student at ECC/NLC.

Although it may change, I go 3 to 4 days per week, some 8-1, some 8-4, and the clinical I chose is from 6:45-7:15.

no pre reqs, no classes this semester....this is a 1st for me in a very long time. Just working, saving money, and trying to get debt free.

I applied for Spring 07 admission. I'm taking A&P II, statistics, Texas Govt and US Govt this semester.

I hope I have fingernails left by mid-Oct

Re: ECC/NL/CCCCD Fall '06 Schedules

I'm in 1st semester at El Centro!! Schedule these first few weeks is not consistent; however, after week 3 or 4 becomes somewhat more routine. Keep in mind that the schedule is only "class time" and does not include extra study time that you may need to be at the school viewing videos (not available online) or with study group.

Monday - 10:45-1:45 (Skills Lab)
Tuesday & Wednesday 8-1:30 (sometimes 12:30 and sometimes 3:00 end times - only until clinicals begin in week 7 or 8 - then my day will be 6:30-3:15 at Texas Specialty Hospital)
Thursday - "off" (yeah right!!!)
Friday - 8:00-1:40 Lecture

OK...are we talking about this week's handed out schedule, or last week's?

Actually, this week 3 X wk, next week 2. The next couple of weeks 4 X week. Most of my schedule once clinals start (8th week) is 3 X week. My clinicals are 7-4 RF.

There are some 8-3, some 8:30-1:30, etc......

Re: ECC/NL/CCCCD Fall '06 Schedules

lol, you are soooooooooooooo right!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kirk, if you are asking, because you are applying to El Centro and thinking about working while in nursing school, you might want to cut back on your working hours. Also , if they offer you to take skills labs ahead of the actual programm, try to do those. I am in , what they call a " Pilot group" ( we are guinnea pigs), who took a Skills class ahead of everyone else this summer, and as far as I can see , this will realy help us time wise, compared to everyone else. The programm overall seems very intense.
