Downloadable pens?

I need help!

I want to pick up one of those pens that when you are taking down notes, you can just download the notes from your pen to the computer. I have no idea what they're called or where to find them. Can anyone help?

Re: Downloadable pens?

I think you mean the Fly computer. It is a pen and it remembers what you write you need to write on special paper. I bought one for my son for Xmas but I might try it first. I got mine from QVC but it is sold everywhere.

Re: Downloadable pens?

Target has them in their Toy department.

We just set for Christmas this week, and all kind of new accessories for them. I didn't realize what they did, but after reading this thread, I might just get one for myself when I start NS next fall!

edit: oh yeah, here's a link, GottaGetIn!

Re: Downloadable pens?

I looked it up and it looks to be a really good idea, but it has 1 drawback: the special paper that you have to use for it. At $9.99 for a 70 page notebook, it is quite expensive a pen to use. I will use that up in about a week!!! I am sure that you can get the notebooks for a cheaper price somewhere, but still, even at 5 bucks a pop, that is too much for me to spend!

Re: Downloadable pens?

Ugh. I didn't know you needed a notebook. I thought it was some magical chip or something and you just connected to your computer and "voila". Guess nothing is that easy.

Now I'll have to think about it.......

Where are you at in your program?

If you have many classes to go, consider getting a tablet pc.

It is expensive, but if you have a bunch of classes, it might be cheaper in the end than buying all that special paper.

I have one, and I love it. If I lose my notes, spill coffee on my notes.....whatever, I just have to reprint them.

Depending on how picky you are about specifications, you can get one for well under $1000.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Gotta! Of course nothing is that easy, or cheap!!! I was totally excited to see something like this since I do so much writing and make so many flashcards, but after checking into it, I just couldn't see spending that much. I always stock up on the spirals that are on sale for .10 cents, and fill those up!!! Much, much cheaper. Here is the link for the actual company if you want to check it out yourself. Like I posted above, I am sure that you can get the notebooks for cheaper, but not as cheap as good old fashione spirals!!

Here is another link to Target for the pen on their site:

Re: Downloadable pens?

To me, it doesn't look like you actually *need* the paper, it just facilitates easier usage. Am I wrong? Anyone actually have one of those to verify?

Actually, to be able to transcribe your notes to your computer, you do need the notebooks. If not, then it is just considered a regular ball point pen. The special notebook paper works with the chip in the pen to be able to work on your computer
