Do you make TABLES when notetaking?

Do you find it easy to create a table when you are studying? I'm thinking that it just might help your memory. What do you think of putting your notes in table format?

My pathophys teacher just told us last week that he has found that the students who ace his class make tables & those that don't, don't.

I think it all revolves around how your mind tracks and learns. I don't think I'm a table person.

I made a lot of tables, charts, cutouts, tracings, whatever helped me see the relationships of seemingly unrelated things. Studying a chart without actually making it myself didn't seem to help as much.

Re: Do you make TABLES when notetaking?

i did that! i would put all the GI dz, or heart defects on one page so that i could compare them (i would include nsg inter, s/s, etc)
if anyone would like to see an example i would be happy to email you! my classmates liked to look at them and use my notes!!

good luck!! i am a new grad and glad to be done, but its all fresh to me so i know what u are going through!!

Re: Do you make TABLES when notetaking?

I don't, because I gloss over tables and don't read them very well. Tables do not "stick" for me. I write my notes out in pseudo-sentence form and since I started working toward my degree have gotten only 1 B, so table making does not necessarily determine success. I think it really just depends on how you learn. For some, tables are perfect for studying. For me, they're pretty much useless until I take the info and write it out in sentences.
