Re: discrimination instructor bully leagal action need help

I apologize if my comment offended people, but I stand by my assessment of the OP's writing skills. I realize that people don't always use their best writing skills online, but her posts go beyond that. They are rambling and incoherent. If I were posting about believing that I was not graded fairly on English papers, I think I would be extra careful with my English.

Her complaint is that she wasn't allowed to submit a fourth paper. She says the reason that she wasn't allowed to submit it was because it wouldn't change her grade. She also says that she didn't get enough points on her first three papers because they were graded subjectively. She is treatening to sue because they won't let her try again, even though she admits herself that their policy doesn't allow for her to try again. She is asking for advice on this matter.

Without having her actual papers in front of us, all we have to go on is her post. Her post doesn't demonstrate an ability to make a clear argument and support it with facts, nor does it show that she understands basic rules of grammar. So, my advice based on what she actually put in front of us is to take some English classes and try again. I think it would be foolish to support the idea of a lawsuit when her complaint is that her English papers were assessed unfairly, and the only example of her writing ability that we have is poorly written.

I realize that some people think that things like grammar and spelling are not a big deal for nursing students. The OP even states that her paper did not "put anyone in danger." I totally disagree with this sentiment. A misplaced comma can be deadly.

The original poster's posts lack clarity of thought and proper grammar among other things. That is especially important when you state you have been dismissed for similar reasons. Why should we think her work is any different.

People are so quick to threaten lawsuits. Maybe a little introspection is what is needed.
Again, you cannot judge school work in the same light as what someone posts on message boards. Alot of times when someone is posting on a board it is in the heat of a moment or they are really stressed out and are bound to make typo's ets.
People are so quick to file lawsuits yes, but people are also quick to place judgement on others and throw insults.

Re: discrimination instructor bully leagal action need help

OP...

Did your instructor cite your writing skills as the reason why your clinical papers received low grades, or was the criticism based on the content of the papers?

The reason I ask is because if you have done well in clinical (which obviously involves charting) without being taken to task over spelling/grammar/etc, then this may put the issue of whether or not it was your writing skills that caused you to do poorly on your assigned papers to rest.

Ehhh, Ill have to disagree. You can tell a good amount by a person's posts.

Boiled down to a 3page paper on topic of life after school and that failed me.

Our college has OMBUDS. Talk to the Dean too.

If the OP's care plans were as disjointed as her comments here the fact that she was in trouble is not a surprise.

I think at this point that the OP has the idea: if you need legal advice and/or representation, please contact a lawyer.

Good luck.
