Creative ideas needed for presentation?

I am hoping that someone can give me some ideas for a group presentation for a class whose instructor is one of those airy-fairly-touchy-feely type person who wants "creativeness" in a student's presentation. I am one who is happy with the straight forward power-point presentation, but we have to do something either creative with powerpoint as the supplement or not at all. One makes it difficult for creativeness is the topic. We are to research and review an aggregate/community that have some risk in our local area and the support services available for this group. We have chosen the topic of "homeless people in our area and risk factors", and besides the usual powerpoint presentation, any ideas from you creative folks what we could do? Some formats of presentation that the instructor suggested was "film, drama, play, radio,...." HUH? I just do not understand why some teachers like things so "out there". PErsonally, I much prefer getting the information straight out rather then playing games to get the information. After all, once we are all out there as working professionals, even in giving presentations and what not, are we all going to be putting puppets in our hands and pretending we are doing this for kindergarden students. arg....

Since you're doing this as a group, maybe you could be in charge of putting together the powerpoint supplement and let the other part of *we* take care of doing the creative stuff?

However, first, I think it would be wise to get your content down on paper, and then as a group you can brainstorm which presentation methods would work best for getting that across. It's hard to throw out suggestions when we don't know what you've got and where you're supposed to be going with it (parameters of the project, etc.)...

go out and take some great pics of the homeless in your area, see if you can interview someone, ask their opinions etc, insert a mini movie into your power point.

Re: Creative ideas needed for presentation?

what about a filmed "newscast" about homelessness? you could talk about the population & risks & do "interviews". i know it's kind of cheesy, but it might be more fun than sitting through *another* powerpoint presentation.
