Backpack question.

Do those of you who use rolling backpacks also have another bag on days when you might not necessarily need the rolling one?

I'm thinking of buying a backpack or tote from L.L. Bean with another extra refund/loan money I might have. I was wondering if you all could tell how often I would actually need it or if I would need it enough so that buying it was worth it.

[I'm too the point where I'm so anxious about school I'm thinking about every last knit-picky thing there is. lol]

Re: Backpack question.

I have a rolling bag, and for the days that my load was somewhat lighter, i just pulled out the straps and wore it as a normal backpack. Sure it looks a tad big on my back... but it beats buying a new bag

Re: Backpack question.

Oh man! I'm so slow. lol I totally forget they have straps. Well, I guess it's possible that I'll need a tote for clincals. They are cheaper enough.

The rolling backpacks can be morphed into ones you can carry on your back. You might want to have a tote bag for days when you don't want to haul around a lot of books. I've been back to school for classes in health information management and, I've got to say, I keep finding books to add to the bag rather than take out of it! Take some advice from an old timer. . .do whatever you can to spare your back.

Re: Backpack question.

I really see no use for the rolling bookbag due to the fact that I'm residential. I'm going to just go to my dorm and drop off the books I don't need in exchange for those I do. Of course, I will be bringing a bookbag just in case.

Re: Backpack question.

Abby,

I have a rolling backpack and intend to use it even if I only have to carry supplies to one class - you know why? I purchased my books yesterday and they are huge! Add to the books a binder and/or notebook paper that you might want to carry - not to mention incidentals - and I would rather spare myself from hurting my back first and foremost, but another thing I would be afraid of is hurriedly trying to switch back and forth and accidentally showing up somewhere without something vital - like no calculator for a dosage calc test where they don't provide one for you - you know?

Just my By the way, it's okay to be concerned about every last nit-picky thing!! I mean, me and my study partners are nit-picking all the way to what color binders/notebooks to buy that will match the color of our books that way everything will be organized Don't worry - you are NOT alone!!

Re: Backpack question.

I do have a bookbag I use when I don't use my rolling one. I find that I like by backpack a lot better than my rolling bookbag, but my shoulders do get a lot more sore. I feel a lot more organized with my backpack because it has separate pockets and my rolling one is one big pocket. I find I can fit everything I need into my backpack just as well as my rolling one.. and I bring a lot of stuff.. plus I get a good workout going to class!
