Question Vegetarian Atkins???

I have a question...I need to drop some post baby weight but I don't eat meat...is there a sample menu somewhere for a vegetarian Atkins diet?? Is there such a thing, I know alot of the protien is suppossed to come from meat but I just can't do it, I actually can get physically ill around even the smell of meat (when it's strong enough) when I have to cook it for my family. I haven't eaten meat since I was very small, I'm not sure if it' the texture or smell but I just can't do it. Any ideas???

I tried Atkins for all of about 3 days. I just don't like meat enough to stay on that diet long term.... handling raw meat kind of grosses me out.

Tofu can be substituted for meat. Do you eat cheeses? You need to get the protein in, what do you normally use for your protein sources?

Thumbs up LOVE cheese

Yes, cheese is my weakness, if it has cheese I will usually eat it. I eat cheese, eggs, peanut butter, soy kernels, etc.
Do you think it can be done??

Have you tried any of the meat substitutes, made from soy?
Other suggestions for some meals: grilled portobello mushroom cap topped with cheese, grilled oninon, and tomatoes; shaghetti squash with grilled summer vegetables and soy protein; flourless quiche made with eggs, spinach, grilled onions, cream or sour cream, and whatever other ingredients that you have around. Try to get in as much spinach as you possibly can as this will help with your iron stores, as well as supply other nutrients. It can be in salad form, spinach dip, steamed, creamed, etc.

Hope that this helps...............
