Anyone have the Littman Lightweight II S.E.?

Im about to click the button to buy it...but I thought I'd check here first. Anyone have it and would recommend it? My stethoscope now is crap...it was only $10 and I bought it from some uniform store, so anything would be a step up.

Re: Anyone have the Littman Lightweight II S.E.?

I have one and I am wanting to get the Littman Classic II S.E. I just think the sound is somewhat poor in the lightweight which hints why its much cheaper than the Classic. It is not horrible by all means, but I think it is for more general purposes like BPs and not really for physicals assessments. I have used the other one at work to compare it to mine and the acoustics are much BETTER in the classic. IT is a good bit heavier than the lightweight. I would suggest pay 30 more dollars on www.allheart.com and get the classic if you use it a lot and are wanting better quality. Hope this helps!

Re: Anyone have the Littman Lightweight II S.E.?

in my opinion anything below a classic II SE is not worth getting. i really wouldnt even recommend the classic II se but i know some people dont want to spend $100+ on a stethoscope.

my opinion is get the cardiology III or master classic II at the very least

Re: Anyone have the Littman Lightweight II S.E.?

I ended up buying the Classic II S.E. (I got it for $73.95 on www.reddingmedical.com...it's cheaper than www.allheart.com and reddingmedical had super fast shipping!!!! and they gave me a free I.D. tag for my stethoscope!) after I was told NOT to buy the Lightweight. The Lightweight only got an acoustical rating of 5 whereas the Classic II S.E. got an acoustical rating of 7 which is much better than 5 imo. The Classic also comes with a 3 year warranty (the Lightweight only comes with 2) so it will last you through nursing school! I would spend the extra $20 or whatever and get something a little better than the Lightweight.
