Has anyone had experience with the American Disabilities Act and modifications made in an elementary school for a child with achondroplastic dwarfism? I have a kindergartener at my school and it has been like pulling hens teeth to get a swing lowered to the height she could access it. I had to purchase a footstool so she could access my toilet (our kindergartens have their own bathrooms and her parents provided a stool for that). Next year she will be in full day first grade and we anticipate her needing accommodations made so she can access bathrooms, desk height, cafeteria stools and heave know's what else. Any suggestions?

I didn't have experience with ADA per se but our student had a full-time aid. She was in fifth and sixth grade so I didn't have quite the same issues. She used the elevator, not the stairs. She had a 504. There is probably an association for dwarfs who could give you alot of help with school accomodations, laws etc. That's where I would look besides the ADA itself.
