Re: Boredom on the job

Boredom??????? I could only wish.
I do get overstimulated and need some "quiet time" that is when I go get some little girl who I know has headlice.
We lock the door, put in a good movie (like Mayberry rfd), put on the "you go girls" hair cape and my hot pink vinyl apron, paint her fingernails and then comb her hair until we are both relaxed.
It is a great break.

Re: Boredom on the job

You will learn that the computer can become your best friend during down time. Also it's a great time to catch up on all the news here. I also find release by getting out of my "cave" (office) and helping one of the secetaries at my school. Or I stroll to the cafeteria, pick up a cup of coffee and check the weather,( I have no windows in my office)

Re: Boredom on the job

During my downtime, I try to think up a different way of doing things either in the clinic or for health teaching. Change sometimes works for me, it can be a motivator.
