catheters in whirlpools

I am looking for research into the use of whirlpool tubs with residents who have indwelling catheters. Is there an increased risk for infection? Are special precautions necessary?
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has this information or knows where I can get it.
Thanks....CMarie

I know this is a long time coming but... put a catheter valve, flip flo..whatever on the catheter and remove bag. no great risk of infection really....
Thats why they have chlorine right!?
