i will have an interview for a rehab hospital tom. after i read some of the posts here ,being pregnant , i have doubts if im headed in the right direction , safety for me and the baby to consider, any of you has experienced working in rehab and pregnant?

We've had many RN's work on my rehab unit while they were expecting. There is just a weight limit to their lifting capabilities. Their co-workers help with any transfers etc that their patients need- not a biggie. Pregancy is a time limited condition and I hope that a potential employer would realize that in consideration of hiring a person. Don't let your expecting stop you from applying, you'll do just fine.

What is it exactly that you're concerned about? The baby getting hurt? I don't see a problem with this, seeing as how I spent 8 months in a rehab (resident).

I worked as a rehab tech while pg and didn't have any problems. Other than being completely wiped out after every shift the last few months! I did have to be careful around a few TBI patients with violent outbursts but other than that I did everything that anybody else did.

If you work with great people like I do, there's nothing to worry about. Everyone pitches in and does the transfers for you. I told my coworkers I was pregnant at around 10-12 weeks and I haven't lifted a pt. since then. I just offer to help pass meds or do something for them in return for all their help and support.
