Question Hello All

New To Site. Rehab Nurse Just Starting To Learn The Ropes. Have Question If Any One Can Help. How Are Units Usually Staffed? The System My Facility Has Seems Complex And Seems To Fail After The Census Goes Above 12. Can Anyone Share How Your Unit Is Staffed And How You Determine How Many Staff Members Are Needed For Proper Patient Care? Thanks!!

I have been working on rehab off an on for over 10 years, and find that most places you can have up to 10 patients a piece... but then you usually have a CNA with you. I have taken up to 15 with a CNA and LPN, but generally, rates at about 5 patients per nurse and support staff.
