I'll bet psych nurse generalists don't have much contact with NPs and would love to know what is the experience out there. Also have some self-interest in knowing how NPs are perceived.
I'm a Psych NP in Arizona. I'd love to hear more on this subject as well. I work in the outpatient clinic and cover for MDs in psych hospital. The inpatient nurses "tell me" that they're glad on days that I'm there as I hear them out more than the MDs do and plan more for prns which they say lessens there stress and need to call at midnight for prns.
I'm not sure if others would say that having worked as an RN, we may be more in tuned with issues nurses would bring up or what.
