Pt requesting restraints

I know... I know.
But what is your hospitals policy on a patient requesting to be placed in restraints.
Do you do it?
Dont do it?
And why?

P.S. I ask because this recently came up in a discussion.
Thanks in advance

Re: Pt requesting restraints

Have not come accross someone asking for restraints.

For us it has to be signed off by a Doc and R.N. It would be a no go for someone requesting them. However if they played up enough and assualted enough people they would probably get them.
