Hello everyone!
I have a question for mental health workers.
I conducted a health history interview with my patient who does not seem to have any mental issues and I have to write an assignement paper about it.
One of the questions I have to write about is: Specify indications for Mini Mental State Exam versus General screening exam.
First of all I dont know anything about these 2 exams.
Can anyone help me out here?
Please share what you know so that I can finish my paper.

The Mini mental State exam is specifically designed to assess cognitive processes. It has distinct assessment areas such as orientation, attention and calculation,recognition, Recall, use and repitition of language. It is used in psychiatry by medical staff to aid the diagnostic process in dementia and support the prescribing of anticholinesterase inhibitors (in UK) the tool was devised by (Folstein, 1978). I am not familiar with the general screening exam but would imagine it is exactly that, a more general tool, or more specifically related to physical health
