I am a new grad and have been on orientation in L&D for about 2 months. I did my preceptorship in L&D and thought that was where I wanted to be...but I've had some problems as a new nurse with the staff being less than kind, especially during my first ever fetal demise. I have always been interested in the mind (psychology was my 1st major) and there is a position open in geri psych at my hospital. I don't know if I should ask to transfer. I need some advice. I did two clinicals while in school on this very psych unit, however, it was more interview stuff and less nursing care. What should I do?
