Woman in iron lung dies after power failure

Wow, really sad, she sounds like a Pt we'd like to care for. According to the article a "spinal deformity" prevented her from using PPV.

Makes you wonder why the emergency generator didn't kick in. Very sad

Re: Woman in iron lung dies after power failure

This trend is probably old since this occured in 2007 however I am just reading this now and feel wow this is negligiance. To many people saw this patient for them to claim it was busy ED. How does security dare to remove a patient from the ER that is in obvious pain. It seems a lot of people made a lot of mistakes in this situation.

PT came in with severe abdominal pain is writhing on the floor has blood from mouth. How much worse can it get before someone takes notice.

I feel this is a case that this person was ignored because she was hispanic, b/c she had past hx of drug use and she had been in the hospital before and she got ignored because of who she was instead of taking care of what was going on with her and that is a tragedy.

Huh?

She died at home after their generator didn't kick in during a power outage.

Re: Woman in iron lung dies after power failure

Think you must have this mixed up with something else as this poor woman died this year due to a power failure
