Hello,
Im scheduled to take my ACLS in a month or so.Im not the best at the ekg stuff. What exactly should i expect? Is the majority on this?I was told we have to ge 100% on the strips? Of course im stressing over this..

you have to know your major rythems and of course, your lethal rythems ( i think i am spelling that wrong, it looks weird) At my hospital ,they give us the books ahead of time so we can study. you should know vfib. vtach, sinus rhythem, asystole, ventricular standstill, etc... go through the book, brush up, practice with the cd so that way when you get to class you already know the basics. you won't have to pull out your callipers, they should be easy enough to identify so you can eyeball it and say "hey this is vtach" i do believe you need to know heart blocks too. hope that helps!

know your algorithms, I don't remember a lot on strips. but you do need to identify v-t v-f svt, bradycardia, pea, aystole. tachy rythms. You have a month you should do alright.

You will need to know all cardiac dyrhythmias and treatments, in ist order. Its not easy, but most people pass. Its trying to retain it all thats more difficult!
