Outpatient surgery center

Hi everyone! I'm a new grad to Med-Surg who is working to complete my IV cetification this weekend. We had a project in class where we are supposed to ask someone from an outpatient surgery center questions to help with a project. If you're not busy, I would definitely appreciate some input.
The questions are:

1. Which lab tests do you order for pre-op including: cross match and 4U of blood on hold? Which lab vials (colors) are used? Which type of needle and what size (typically) is used?

2. If you start at IV of D5W at TKO rate, do you use an IV pump or pole? Does the setup already include a filter?

Hopefully you can help. If so, thanks and have a great day!!!
