What is the risk to the baby? Is it OK to simply avoid physical contact, i.e. not have him hold the baby, or should they leave?
Anyone who has not had chickenpox could easily catch shingles from someone who has it. I am only not sure about a baby that young....once all the shingles are crusted over, it is not contagious anymore.
