RNs that work on Toddler units

I really love this age group and will not get a chance to explore this during nursing school. Can anyone tell me a little bit about the pros and cons of nursing on a toddler unit? What is your pt ratio? Do you feel rushed all of the time or is the pace manageable? Please share any thoughts or tips. Thank you, have a great day!

i work on an infant/toddler unit and i love it.....feel rushed sometimes, but we have wards and parent/child rooms. the wards are usually busy. we also have a vent ward--chronic vent. patients. again i love it. usually have 4 patients. can have 5 in the really busy rsv season........vent kids, its usually 2or 3 patients per nurse. our age range is 0......premies sent over from our nicu....to age 5. occassionally we get a few 6 or 7 year olds.
