Pediatric competencies

I appreciate the help I've gotten from the EXPERTS as my hospital tries to develop a pediatric program, and now I have another question: what competencies do you feel it is mandatory for a good pediatric nurse to have? How do you assess for these skills? If you have any examples of great, creative competency programs your hospitals have implemented, could you share them? Please PM me if you can help. Thanks
