My son is 12 and is on Adderall XR 20mg, he takes 2 q a.m. This afternoon at about 1:00 central time he came in and asked if he could take a tylenol for a headache. A mintue later he came in and informed me that he absent mindedly grabbed his adderrall and took them without thinking. I called the pediatrician's office and they say he'll be up all night, but is there anything else I should be looking for? I can't seem to find good information on this type of situation with this drug. I CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THIS!! Thanks for any help you guys may have to offer.

Call the Poison Control Hotline @ 1-800-222-1222. They are a better resource than an online message board and can provide more accurate information.

You can also call your local wal-mart or wal-greens pharmacist's. I call them for all sorts of questions.Hope your son does o.k. You better drink some coffee after dinner to be up with him. Best of luck to you both, and let us know how it goes.

The amount of Adderal he received is within the safe dosing range for his age which is why the Ped's office wasn't terribly concerned.

I'm curious as to how he did.
My son has had no problems sleeping since starting Adderal, even with an afternoon dose. (Dexadrine & Ritalin were a whole 'nother story)
